I’m a Seattle-based writer, mom of two, and advocate for childhood independence.
I’m currently writing a book about childhood independence in an age of constant surveillance.
At the heart of all my work is a simple hope: that kids can experience some of the freedom their parents once knew.

Hi, I’m Elizabeth.
I received my Master of Communication Degree from the University of Washington.
Since 2020, I’ve supported dozens of families in creating space for kids to play and grow beyond the constant shadow of adults. In Seattle Public Schools, I began the first Let Grow Play Club, which filled up to a waiting list within hours.
My passion for this work began during the Covid lockdowns, when my five-year-old daughter begged to go play at the park on her own.
Watching her gradually gain the confidence to explore her neighborhood–first with her little brother and now with friends on foot or by bike–inspired me to help other families do the same.
Work With Me
Writing is how I share ideas, and working directly with families is one of my passions.
I offer support and resources for parents who want to encourage independence in their children while staying grounded in values most important to them.
Together, we can take steps that help kids grow with confidence.
